The artist was born on November 26, 1986, to Santa Monica California in the United States of America. She is the child of her dad Vincenzo and her mother Valerie Barba. In the year she turned six, her family moved into Point Pleasant New Jersey. For her schooling, she finished her education at Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey. Later, she attended Catholic University, where she was awarded a degree of architecture. When she was 4 she was able to begin playing the violin and earned the name Violin Girl. The name she was given by her nickname due to her performances. She also taught violin to children in the area. She performed Free throughout 1976 when she made her audition to American Idol's sixth season at age 19. The singer was then eliminated finishing 16th in the competition.
